Set up Jira Cloud
Learn how to set up Jira Cloud and integrate it with other products and applications.
Jira Cloud for Microsoft Teams gives your team a shared view of Jira projects so you can collaborate on and action tasks without leaving Teams. Streamline your workflow with custom notifications, link previews, and the functionality to create, search, and update Jira tasks—all within Teams.
Install the Jira Cloud app in Teams chats to access the following features:
Project notifications - Customize your notifications to get instant project updates.
Link previews - View real-time project information and status updates.
Action Jira tasks - View, assign, comment on, and watch tasks directly in Teams.
Quick commands - Find tasks, configure notifications, and request support using prompts.
Select Apps from the left vertical toolbar in Teams.
Enter Jira Cloud in the Apps search bar.
Find the Jira Cloud app and select Add.
Select Add for me from the drop-down menu in the app modal.
Follow the sign in prompts to complete your installation.
Select Jira Cloud from the left vertical toolbar in Teams.
Enter Notifications in the Jira Cloud chat.
Jira Cloud will automatically setup default personal notifications.
Select Change notifications to adjust your notification preferences.
Select Save notifications.
Once you've setup personal notifications in Teams, you can turn off or adjust email notifications in Jira from your browser.
Navigate to your avatar on the top left menu in Jira and select Notifications and then Project and issue notifications to adjust your email notification preferences.
Select the + icon on the top right of the chat menu.
Search and select Jira Cloud.
Select your Jira Cloud site from the drop-down menu.
Select your saved filter from the drop-down menu.
Select Save.
You'll see a Jira Cloud tab appear in the chat menu. In this tab view, you can access Jira tasks you've recently viewed, worked on, or been assigned to.
Select Calendar on the left toolbar, then select + New meeting.
Enter your meeting details and select Send.
Open the meeting and select the + icon from the menu.
Search and select Jira Cloud.
Select your Jira Cloud site, then select Save.
You'll see a Jira Cloud tab appear in the meeting invite and chat menu. In this tab view, you can access Jira tasks you've recently viewed, worked on, or been assigned to.
Add Jira Cloud to the team, channel or meeting chat.
Enter @Jira Cloud, select Jira Cloud from suggestions then enter Notifications.
This command will trigger the setup for channel notifications.
Follow the prompts to select your site and project to adjust your notifications preferences.
Once you've setup personal notifications in Teams, you can turn off or adjust email notifications in Jira from your browser.
Navigate to your avatar on the top left menu in Jira and select Notifications and then Project and issue notifications. Scroll down and select Add project notifications to select your project and adjust your notification preferences.
Navigate to your team, channel or meeting chat.
Select the Jira Cloud tab on the top right of the chat menu.
Select Create issue and follow the prompts to create an issue.
Enter a search phrase or issue key into the search bar to find an issue.
Share a Jira issue link in a team, channel or meeting chat.
Sign in to your Atlassian account to view the full link preview.
The link will display the issue status, type, assignee and priority.
Select Comment, Edit or Open in Jira to action the issue in Teams.
For a seamless experience, Jira Cloud installs in chats and channels when someone shares a preview link.
Turn off the auto-installation feature when sharing a Jira link by selecting x when the preview of the link is displayed. You’ll now be able to share a Jira link without triggering auto-installation in the chat.
Use these commands with Jira Cloud to streamline your workflow in Teams.
Personal chat - Enter the Command directly into the chat to trigger the action.
Team/channel/meeting chat - Enter @Jira Cloud, select Jira Cloud from suggestions then enter a Command.

Find Jira Cloud in the left vertical toolbar in Teams.
Secondary click on the Jira Cloud icon.
Select Uninstall.
Select Remove to uninstall Jira Cloud.
Your data and personal information are encrypted for added security. Jira Cloud is activated only with the @Jira Cloud prompt followed by a Command.
