Get started with Opsgenie as a user
Learn how to configure your profile, get notifications from Opsgenie and view on-call schedules.
The Logz.io observability platform allows customers to configure customizable alerts based on log query criteria. By integrating with Logz.io, Opsgenie can act as a dispatcher for alerts sent out by Logz.io and determine the right people to notify based on on-call schedules. Opsgenie sends notifications via email, text messages (SMS), phone calls and iPhone & Android push notifications and escalates alerts until the alert is acknowledged or closed.
When an alert is created in Logz.io, an alert is also created in Opsgenie automatically through the integration.
If you're using Opsgenie's Free or Essentials plan or if you’re using Opsgenie with Jira Service Management's Standard plan, you can add this integration from your team dashboard only. The Integrations page under Settings is not available in your plan.
Go to Teams and select your team.
Select Integrations on the left navigation and then select Add integration.
Adding the integration from your team dashboard will make your team the owner of the integration. This means Opsgenie will assign the alerts received through this integration to your team only. Follow the rest of the steps in this section to set up the integration.
Go to Settings > Integrations. Search for Logz.io and select Add.
Specify who is notified of Logz.io alerts using the Responders field. Auto-complete suggestions are provided as you type.
Copy the API Key.
Click Save Integration.
In the Logz.io app, go to Alerts & Events > Alert endpoints from the upper menu.
Select Opsgenie as "Type".
Paste the Opsgenie API Key into the relevant field.
(Optional) Click Run the test to confirm that the test message was received by Opsgenie.
Click Save.
6. To create an alert, go to Alerts & Events > New alert from the upper menu.
7. Fill in the form and select the Opsgenie endpoint in the field "Who to send it to".
