Learn about Atlassian organizations
New to administering Atlassian cloud products? Learn about Atlassian organizations and what it means to be an organization admin.
Connecting to GitHub is only possible if you have Jira available on the same site as Rovo.
Rovo is only compatible with GitHub Cloud (including Enterprise Cloud). It’s not available for GitHub Enterprise Server at this time.
To connect, you need Organization owner permissions in GitHub.
We encourage you to review your permissions in GitHub. Repositories that have not been restricted, and any associated pull requests, branches, and commits will appear for your teammates in search results.
To get to the setup screen for GitHub:
Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Settings > Rovo.
Under the Sites tab, next to the site you want to connect, select More actions (•••), then Add connector.
Select GitHub, then Next.
Next, to configure GitHub:
Enter a nickname for your GitHub connection.
You’ll be asked to install the GitHub for Jira Marketplace app and configure it. If you already have the app, you may be asked to adjust some permissions to ensure the connection works with Rovo. For more information, see Connect GitHub Cloud to Jira.
Review and agree to the data usage information.
Select Connect.
After you’ve finished connecting GitHub:
GitHub content will start to show in Search incrementally over the next few hours.
Your team members will see GitHub show up as a filter option in Search. If they haven’t connected to GitHub from their Atlassian account, they may be asked to connect before they can see results. This is required so Rovo can make sure your teammates only see results they usually have access to.
Depending on the amount of content in GitHub, it may take some time for all your content to be indexed and appear in Search.
Because your GitHub data is integrated through GitHub for Jira app, to disconnect and completely remove your GitHub data from Rovo and Atlassian, you’ll need to both:
Disconnect GitHub from Rovo using the standard disconnect steps.
