Connect Microsoft Teams to Rovo

Before you begin

  • You need Microsoft Entra admin permissions to connect Teams to Rovo.

  • We encourage you to review your permissions in Microsoft Teams. Rovo will index every message in Teams, including private messages (DMs) and private channels.

Connecting to Teams

To get to the setup screen for Teams in Atlassian Admin:

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.

  2. Select Settings > Rovo.

  3. Under the Sites tab, next to the site you want to connect, select More actions (•••) and select Add connector.

  4. Select Microsoft Teams and press Next.

  5. In a new tab, log in to your Microsoft account at Entra at entra.microsoft.com.

  6. In the side navigation, under Identity, select Overview.

  7. Copy the Tenant ID using the copy to clipboard button.

  8. Back in Atlassian Administration, paste the Tenant ID into the Microsoft Tenant ID field.

  9. Select Authorize Teams App.

  10. You will be directed to Microsoft to accept the permissions required for the Rovo app.

  11. Step through the Teams flow.

Next steps

After you’ve finished connecting Teams:

  1. Messages will start to show in Search incrementally over the next few hours.

  2. Your team members will see Teams show up as a filter option in Search. If they haven’t connected to Teams from their Atlassian account, they may be asked to connect before they can see results. This is required so Rovo can make sure your teammates only see results they usually have access to.

  3. Depending on the number of messages in Teams, it may take some time for all your messages to be indexed and appear in Search.
