Add test policy

A test policy allows you to test external user settings before you roll out the settings to all external users in your organization. You can test your settings with up to five external users.

We recommend when you test a policy with single sign-on that you use an incognito browser window. This allows you to test the a policy without any previous session login information.

To add test policy:

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.

  2. Select Security > External users.

  3. Select Add test policy.

  4. Select up to 5 external users for the test policy.

  5. Save test policy.

When an external user becomes a managed account or no longer belongs to the organization, you’re unable to apply the external user security settings to the external user.

To add or remove external users from a test policy:

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.

  2. Select Security > External users.

  3. Select test policy.

  4. Add or remove external users.

  5. Save test policy.

It takes about 10 minutes for the settings to no longer apply to all the external users in your organization.
